The Witch of Blackbird Pond – By Elizabeth George Speare

It is 1687. Kit Tyler is an independent girl who is forced to leave her home in Barbados to come to the new and rough country of America. What she finds there is very different from what she expected. But with her new family and a few special friends, Kit finds a deeper meaning to life and discovers more about her true self in the process.

  • So, a lot has been happening in my life lately, and I have found it hard to keep up with anything.  I'm sorry.  But I will be better at it for a while now, as life is somewhat settled for now. Thank you for your support! #
  • Did you know that Disney has dropped "Narnia"?  It is thought that monatary issues made them back out.  However, Walden Media didn't give up on the new film and 20th Century Fox has taken up "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader".  Some fans are slightly concerned, as they felt that Fox ruined the "Eragon" movie (I neither read the book or saw the movie, so my opinion doesn't exsist on that point :-).  However, seeing how badly Disney botched "Prince Caspian", I'm inclined to just hold my breath and hope for the best! #

Read Good Books’ Quotes

Several times during the night he sprang to his feet when the shed door rattled open, expecting to see the Judge, or one of the boys at least. But each time it was the bulging face of the saloon-keeper that peered in at him by the sickly light of a tallow candle. And each time the joyful bark that trembled in Buck’s throat was twisted into a savage growl. — The Call of the Wild – By Jack London
